Show Me Where The Stones Are

“And he took his stick in his hand and chose for himself five smooth stones from the brook, and put them in the shepherd’s bag which he had, even in his pouch, and his sling was in his hand; and he approached the Philistine.”

We must rid ourselves of the notion that simply because we have prayed. or even because we have a consistent live of fervent prayer, challenges will not come our way.  We will be met with opposition.  Unavoidable challenges will come our way.  Giants will stand in our path.  As we continue in prayer, we would do well to recognize what we truly need.  We don’t need for the giants to be removed from our path; we just need to know where the smooth stones are.  Obstacles are going to be part of our journey; we cannot escape that fact.  Struggles will come our way.  Challenges will be encountered.  Threats will be uttered.  Battles will be fought.  Attempts to avoid these will prove not only futile, but costly as well.  Our confidence is found in knowing that what we have not already been equipped with for facing the unavoidable challenges will be provided at the moment we need them.  David did not pick up his five smooth stones until just before he faced Goliath.  The same God who knows the locations of the giants standing before us is the very one who will put the stones right where we need them.  We don’t need the giants to be removed from our path; we just need to know where the smooth stones are.
