Rise and Build-June Update

The school year has come to a close and summer break has finally begun. Although students and teachers are taking some well-deserved time off for the next few months, we are taking no time off from our Rise and Build campaign. Here is our current progress on the work…

· In “Toon Town,” renovation and retrofitting, including electrical work, has begun. The bank, water tower, and two city silhouettes have been removed.

· In the “NCKids Production” room, carpet and base have been installed. Painting and electrical have been completed as well.

· In the “Theater” room, trim, outlets and dimmer switch, and guardrails have been installed. Painting has been completed as well.

· In the Game Room, all electrical outlets and switches have been replaced. The horn and strobe have been relocated. Additionally, sheetrock has been mudded, masonry walls have been patched, the walls have been primed, and painting of walls and trim has begun.

· In the Atrium and Gymnasium, stair treads and risers have been installed.

· In the family restroom, all fixtures and old flooring have been removed, and new flooring and base have been installed. All ceiling tiles have been replaced. All walls have been patched, primed, and painted. The door has been stripped, re-stained and clear coated. Door trim has been painted. A water closet has been installed. The diaper changing station, feminine disposal can, and soap dispenser have been cleaned and reinstalled. A toilet paper dispenser has been installed. The paper towel dispenser has been repaired and reinstalled.

· In the Café, eight lighting fixtures have been removed from the walls, and the walls have been repaired. Four lighting fixtures have been removed from the ceiling. Old flooring and base have been removed. The TV and mount have been removed. Painting of walls has begun, and a new wall has been framed. Electrical rough-in of five new outlets, four new lights, and one new switch has been completed.

It is plain to see that no vacation has been taken with regard to ongoing work for this project. Just as He who began a good work in us is faithful to complete it, we too will be faithful to complete the work that we have started in providing a place for our children and students.
